Steampunk Airship: Zephyr Breakdown

Hello all! This is my breakdown for the hero prop: steampunk airship; Zephyr. This was such a fun project and I was very happy with how it turned out. I learned, utilized and became proficient in many new techniques and workflows such as nanite, material layering, mesh animation, piston motion animation, lighting, and many more. I applied high to low poly bakes and texturing in substance painter as well. All the modeling aspects were completed in Maya and Zbrush. All the materials that were used were created from scratch in substance designer. On a side note, I had a lot of fun learning the animation aspect of things and were quite happy with the results. The method to animate the piston motion was especially hard and experimental as I struggled with a lot of the joint motion and simulating physics. I would like to thank my mentor, Aleksandar Danilovac for all the help in this project as well as many of my classmates.
